1983 Founding member of the “Freie Schule Lübeck e.V.” From 1986 onwards, for 14 years, a special decree by the state of Schleswig-Holstein established an independent branch at the Schule Lauerholz in Lübeck-Karlshof. This allowed the Freie Schule Lübeck e.V. to test and implement innovative teaching in a public school. Many of these innovations were transferred into teacher training by teachers, who, enabled by this decree, taught at the school and at the teacher training institute “Lernwerkstatt”, a precursor to the IQSH (Institute for Quality Development in Schools Schleswig-Holstein), housed in the same building as the school for many years.
